Leominster play area is coming on nicely

A PROJECT giving youngsters in Leominster a new play area is close to completion.

A treehouse, BMX track and zip wire are among the attractions being installed at the Barons Court play area off Far Meadow Road.

Designs have come from youngsters on the Barons Court estate, who were asked what they would like to see included. Tree planting has also been taking place.

The scheme has been backed by a £57,000 grant by Herefordshire Council and is set to open in April. It is aimed at eight to 13-yearolds.

Christine Bailey, partnership officer with Marches Housing, which has worked closely with the council on the project, says other recreational ideas are in the pipeline for various age groups.

Barons Cross is one of a number of sites across Herefordshire to be awarded money to develop play opportunities.
