Election rival weighs into Wiggin Cadbury row

UNDER-fire Leominster MP Bill Wiggin has been branded “unbelievably thoughtless and uncaring” by an election rival.

Lib Dem candidate Lucy Hurds weighed into the row caused by Mr Wiggin’s apparent labelling of Cadbury staff as “whinging”.

She said the chocolate giant’s planned takeover by Kraft was a worrying time for employees at the county’s Marlbrook plant near Leominster.

“The insensitive way in which Mr Wiggin has handled the issue has only made a difficult time more stressful for all concerned.

“To refer to the staff as a ‘whinging workforce’ was unbelievably thoughtless and uncaring.”
