The Tyrrells Potato Chips plant near Leominster is operating as usual following a small fire in its roof yesterday afternoon.

Crews from Leominster and Kingsland and the aerial ladder plaform team from Hereford were called to the site at Stretford Bridge at around 2.30pm.

Some roof panels were smouldering, but the fire was put out quickly.

Cath Henley, senior marketing manager at Tyrrells, said that all health and safety checks were carried out and the site was back operating as usual.
