YOUNG visitors to a county tourist attraction can be the king of the castle thanks to a new play area.
A £35,000 castle-themed activity centre has been opened at Croft Castle and Parkland, near Leominster.
Built using forest-friendly materials, the centre was two years in the planning and was part-funded by the Severn Waste Environmental Fund.
It is situated so that children can play on the swings, slides and see-saws, battlements and turrets while parents take a break in the tea room.
The play area has the same opening hours as the castle, and is also open every weekend in the winter months.
