A LEOMINSTER charity has held its 23rd AGM in the town.
More than 65 service users and volunteers attended Age Concern Leominster and District’s meeting at the Royal British Legion.
Chief executive Colette Colman talked about the changes which have taken place over the past year and some of the new initiatives which are underway.
David Francis became chairman of the board of directors following the resignation of Sheelagh Keen, who remains an active volunteer director.
Mr Francis, a senior partner of Lloyds and Cooper solicitors who has practiced in Leominster for nearly 40 years, told the AGM: “I have always had a particular interest in the affairs of older clients and the issues that they and their families face.”
Fiona Galliers-Pratt took over as treasurer after the resignation of Tony Rouse, who will also continue as a volunteer director.
Keynote speaker Councillor Olwyn Barnett, Herefordshire Council’s cabinet member for social care, recognised the role voluntary organisations play in the provision of services and talked of the various challenges restricted funding will bring.
