AN independent candidate has won the Leominster South seat on Herefordshire Council.
Peter McCaull won the by-election with 515 votes beating Conservative Keith Miles by 118 votes Green party candidate Joan Thwaites got 200 votes and 131 people voted for the Lib Dem’s Matt Lane.
The turnout was 28.14 per cent.
McCaull follows veteran conservative councillor Dick Burke who died recently.
