LEOMINSTER residents are set to benefit from improved legal aid services for civil cases, and Bill Wiggin says he is delighted.

Glyn Evans, the regional director for the Legal Services Commission, said in a letter to the MP that services would be expanded in Leominster.

He also said the commission was inviting tenders to deliver more services across Herefordshire - specialist and general advice in family law and advice in various categories of social welfare law (debt, housing, welfare benefits, community care and employment).

Said Mr Wiggin: “I am very pleased by the decision to expand legal aid services in the Leominster area.

“Residents often need to seek legal help at desperate times and by following my request to improve legal aid provision, I hope that more of my constituents will be able to receive the help, advice and representation that they need.”

Full details of the invitations to tender can be found at legalservices.gov.uk/civil/tenders.asp
