VISITORS to a Herefordshire mansion are being invited to go fly a kite.

The Herefordshire Kite Festival is taking place at Berrington Hall, near Leominster, this weekend.

Organised by county kite builder Karl Longbottom, the event is in its seventh year, and second at the National Trust house.

There will be demonstrations of sport and single line kites from the Herefordshire Kite Association, large Chinese Dragon kites and displays to music.

Tina Salter, property manager at Berrington Hall, said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the Herefordshire Kite Festival here once again. Last year’s event was a fantastic success.

“The historic parkland at Berrington offers plenty of open space to showcase kites, and there are fantastic views of the Herefordshire countryside to enjoy too.”

The event takes place on July 19 and 20 between 11am and 4pm. For more information call 01568 615721.
