Walking group awarded accreditation

A LEOMINSTER walking group have been awarded accreditation by a national health scheme.
Walking for Health in Leominster are now a part of Walking the way to Health - a joint initiative between Natural England and the British Heart Foundation.
The Leominster group offers led walks for beginners, collects basic monitoring information and meets Walking the way to Health safety and insurance standards - all required criteria for accreditation.
As a part of the national scheme it will be formally recognised by health professionals, prospective partners and backers.
Dennis Downey, Walking for Health in Leominster co-ordinator, said: “We are delighted to receive this recognition and to say thank you to all those who have participated in getting healthy.”
