Man denies attempting to murder his ex in Ledbury

A COMPUTER firm manager today denied attempting to murder his former wife and her new partner in Ledbury.

Peter Mason, aged 58, also pleaded not guilty to two charges of wounding with intent at the same address in The Homend, Ledbury, on July 1.

A leading QC has been engaged to represent Mason, of Newark, Nottinghamshire, at his trial in April next year.

He denies attempting to murder Deborah Mason and Michael Longden.
He also denies wounding with intent to cause them grievous bodily harm and a further charge of having an offensive weapon, namely a knife, outside their home.

Prosecutor Jonas Hankin told Worcester Crown Court the trial is expected to last between two and three weeks and he asked for the custody time limit to be extended from January 1 to cover the first week.

Julian Harris, defending, said he did not object to the extension and the defence would not be seeking a pre-trial review.
