Chilli festival and cider tasting - it will be a tasty bank holiday in Herefordshire

Spicy delights will be on offer at the Chilli Festival at Eastnor Castle this bank holiday.

More than 40 exhibitors will take part in the event on Sunday and Monday. Among the Herefordshire produce on offer will be chilli chocolates from the Velvet Bean in Ledbury, chilli vodka from Monkhide Wines in Canon Pyon and special spice mixes from Ambalama Spices in Hereford.

Indian curry expert Rayeesa, from Mordiford, will be holding cookery demonstrations and there will be live entertainment from Mexican band Los Squideros.

Doors open from 11am to 5pm and admission is £9 for adults, £6 for children.

• Elsewhere, cider and perry fans will find plenty to delight the taste buds at Putley Village Hall, near Ledbury.

The Grand Cider and Perry Tasting on Sunday between 2pm and 6pm, and Monday between noon and 5pm.

More than 70 competition entries can be sampled while local cider, apple juice and locally produced pork will be on sale.
