Herefordshire farmer pleads not guilty to 27 sex offences

A 69-year-old farmer has pleaded not guilty to 27 sex offences involving young boys and will stand trial at Hereford Crown Court on January 14, 2013.

Michael Allfrey, of Wildgoose Hill, Hereford Road, Storridge, entered his pleas today at Worcester Crown Court and it was estimated that the trial will take three weeks.

Allfrey is alleged to have interfered with seven boys, some as young as 10, on his tractor or quad bike.

Two offences involve inciting boys to engage in sexual activity and the remainder are sexual assault.

Allfrey was remanded on bail until July 27 when further directions will be given by the court.
