COUNTY firefighters have completed a mock search and rescue of a Ledbury Church.
Officers from the town’s retained fire station were invited to St Michael and All Angel’s as part of an ongoing review of fire precautions at the church.
Deputy churchwarden Brian Hawcutt said the officers put up ladders and laid out hoses as they conducted a full search inside and outside the building.
“Wearing blindfolds to simulate thick smoke and darkness, they searched for ‘victims’ - dummies lying in and under some of the pews,” said Mr Hawcutt.
“We are glad to say they were all found safe.”
