A sign measuring 100ft in length is promoting Kington Festival.

Inspired by the famous ‘Hollywood’ sign, organisers hope the huge sign on Bradnor Hill to promote the event that begins on June 8.

The letters, which are 20ft high and can be seen throughout the town, include a golden ‘O’ to reflect the 2012 festival’s Olympic Games theme.

Appropriately enough, the main event of this year’s festival will be the traditional wheelbarrow race along Kington High Street on June 9.

Up to 30 competitors are expected to don fancy dress costumes for the race which has been taking place in the market town for 37 years.
