A NEW £70,000 play space for Kington officially opens this weekend following consultations with local children and young people.
The results of a three-month project to bring a jungle climber, zip wire, balance trail, climbing tower and toddler area to Crooked Well Meadow will be celebrated at a special fun day on Sunday (May 16) from 2pm onwards.
Councillor Terry James will kick off entertainment that includes a bouncy castle, fun with Wizard Wonky, a climbing wall and an African drumming workshop, while members of Friends of Crooked Well Meadow who worked with Herefordshire Council, Amey and local residents and businesses to realise the scheme will also be present.
Group representative Steve Hodges said: “Our grand opening promises to be great fun and a chance to pay tribute to all the hard work that has gone into making it such a success.”
