VISITORS watched man take on machine in a gruelling wood chopping display at Eardisley Show on Bank Holiday Monday.
A team called the Axe Men took on several chainsaw wielding opponents as they raced to cut logs of varying sizes in record time.
Other attractions at the Sheepcroft Field event included a vintage car display, clay pigeon shoot and fun dog show that took place as entries in a range of domestic and horticultural competitions were judged in the village hall.
Cup winners included Kate Wilson and Margaret Whittal in the floral section, and Eric Probert and Norma Bishop for their entries in the produce classes.
Firefighters from Eardisley station also rescued a driver from a mocked up car accident and tackled a fake house fire in the main ring - in between responding to a real-life call in Brilley which turned out to be a false alarm.
