A HEREFORDSHIRE publisher and his wife have reached Rome three months after setting out from their Almeley home on foot.
Logaston Press’ Andy Johnson, his partner Karen Stout and their friend Peter Shackleton left Hereford in May on a 1300 mile pilgrimage to raise money for Amnesty International and special needs charity Friends of St Owen’s Centre.
They reached the Italian capital on Tuesday after walking miles each day across varying terrain, including the Alps, in heats of up to 40 degrees.
All three will find out how much money has been raised by friends and family on their behalf when they return to the county next Tuesday./p>
