KINGTON police are urging residents to be vigilant when it comes to summer shed thefts.
Officers are advising householders not to store expensive items unless necessary and to maximise security by padlocking doors securely, fitting grills or mesh on windows and investing in alarms.
Household insurance policies should also be checked to make sure items are covered, large items like bikes should be locked together and shed themselves should be bolted down.
