FEARS that Kington Court Health and Social Care Centre was under threat were eased when Herefordshire Primary Care Trust said it was taking admissions again.
A public meeting was told that standards had improved enough for it to re-open.
The Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) had put a question mark over the centre’s future earlier this year amid concerns over record-keeping and staff competence.
Councillor Allan Lloyd called the meeting, which was attended by about 100 people.
“We seem to be turning a welcome corner after a nine month period of great anxiety,” he said.
Coun Lloyd said he was concerned the commission had kept the situation in a vacuum for nine months and rapid resolution was needed over the minor injuries unit – which is opening only on Saturdays – but the fact it was no longer involved was a silver lining that would hopefully see outstanding issues dealt with soon.
The Trust’s head of commissioning, Paul Ryan, said plans to gradually re-introduce regular services would come into effect soon.
