KINGTON’S Festival Association and its youth theatre have been given a £500 cash boost from property developers in the town.

The local division of St John Ambulance and Greenfields Community Group, which runs a playscheme for children, also received donations for the same amount at the launch of Bryant Homes’ first showhome at its Morgans Orchard site off Oxford Lane.

The four were whittled down from various applications received following an April appeal for worthy causes to come forward.

Senior sales manager Stephen Cleveley said: “We’ve discovered there are so many good causes in the village, some that are funded out of people’s own pockets and run in their own spare time, so we’re glad to be of help as much as we can.”

Reservations for two and three bedroom homes on the site are being taken.
