"Man v horse" race through Herefordshire village

IT’S not your usual sporting event but a crowd still came out to support a “man v horse” race in Herefordshire.
A record 67 competitors took part in the fifth Huntington Chase near Kington to raise money for Paralympians.
The cyclists were off first, followed by runners, then riders on horseback and a few local dog walkers.
They faced a gruelling 10km journey from Huntington, over the top of Hergest Ridge, through Gladestry and back to the Swan Inn.
The £625 raised is being split between Herefordshire Sport and the Royal National College for the Blind in Hereford, which is home to the GB Blind Football team and used by county Paralympians Sasha and Nyree Kindred and Josie Pearson.
Soo Sappy was the first of the six horseriders to come home, while Will Kelly, whose fancy dress garb did not slow him down, was the first cyclist to cross the line in 44 minutes, closely followed by runner Mike Pfeiffer of Llanstephan in 40 minutes.
