Westfields paired with Solihull Moors in FA Cup

WESTFIELDS have been handed an away tie at higher graded opposition in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.

Fields, who beat Norton United 5-2 on Saturday, travel to Conference North outfit Solihull Moors - three divisions above the Hereford-based side.

Westfields Chief Executive Andy Morris admitted he was disappointed with the draw but did feel it was a winnable tie.

“There are other clubs we would have preferred to have faced,” he said.

“But we have to go there now and try to progress further in the FA Cup.”

Moors players include former Hereford United captain Karl Broadhurst who netted against Leicester City when the Bulls were in League One back in 2008.

Westfields have already picked up £5,750 in FA Cup prize money this season and will collect a further £4,500 should they beat Solihull.

The tie will take place on September 22.
