UPDATE: Men ask children to get into their car in Whitecross, Hereford

TWO children managed to run home after three men asked them into their car in Hereford.

According to West Mercia Police, the 12-year-old boys were on Westfaling Street at around 5.45pm yesterday (August 16) when the blue car stopped in traffic and asked the boys if they wanted to jump in the car.

No physical attempt was made to grab the children by either of the three men in the vehicle who then left the area and headed away from the city centre.

The children managed to run safely home.

The rear passenger who spoke to the boys is described as white, in his 40s, with black hair and facial stubble.

Sarah Buxton, media communications officer with West Mercia Police, said: "This is being treated as an isolated incident and no other reports of this nature have been received, however we would like to remind children never to get into strangers' vehicles and not to go off with someone they do not know."

Anyone with information can contact West Mercia Police on 101 quoting 669s 1608102 .
