Hereford bar manager illegally employed door staff

INVESTIGATORS from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) found a Hereford bar manager was illegally employing door staff.

In a joint operation with the police, an SIA team checked 17 pubs and clubs to find almost all door staff working within the conditions of their SIA licence.

One bar manager was working illegally by employing inhouse door staff without holding the required SIA licence to do so. He is due to be interviewed by police.

Speaking about the campaign, Jim Mooney, police licensing officer for Herefordshire, said officers would continue to work with the SIA and other partner agencies to ensure venues and staff were correctly licensed.

In Hereford, 45 door supervisors were inspected with 44 individuals in possession of a valid SIA licence.
