Almost 200 watching TV without a licence in Hereford

MORE than 170 people have been wathcing television without a licence in Hereford this year.

City households caught without licences between January and June 2012 now face prosecution and fines of up to £1,000.

The figures, released by TV Licensing today, are down on the same period last year when more than 350 Hereford residents were without a TV licence.

A colour licence currently costs £145.50 a year.

I bet we are never told how many will actual be prosecuted and fined, or perhaps they will use this new style of prosecution i.e write to head of BBC say sorry, buy them bunch of flowers and chocolate be cheaper ( BY THE WAY THIS IS TONUGE IN CHEEK) meant as joke i suppose

there is not a lot worth watching anyway, i was stopped in high town by a young bloke wanting to sell me satellite tv" why" i asked "i get 5 channels of terrestial rubbish and dont want any more, pay more money ,nah"

i only watch Netflix, DVDs and blu-rays, so I don't need a licence and have not had one since the start of this year.
I not paying for the trash on TV, I am now paying for stuff I want to watch, when I want to watch it.

The TVL can come to my house any time, if I will let them in is another thing
