Hereford Rugby Club plans approved - again

HEREFORD Rugby Club is celebrating after planners approved plans for its new home for a second time.

Plans for a new club off Hampton Park Road, including almost 200 new houses, were originally approved last August, but came back before the councillors today (Wednesday) to be considered in light of the newly adopted National Planning Policy Framework.

Former club chairman Guy Griffiths told the meeting the development, featuring six pitches, an indoor training facility and car park, was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

He said the current Wyeside site was “an embarrassment, not just for us but other people in Herefordshire and beyond”.
