Hereford Rugby Club's new home at risk?

Hereford Rugby Club is facing a bureaucratic battle after its proposal for a dream home was brought back before council planners.

Guy Griffiths, a former club chairman, claims the sport will “continue to slide” in the city if plans for a new state-of-the-art home are refused next week.

A planning application to relocate the rugby club from flood-prone Wyeside to land off Hampton Park Road was approved last August, but id due back before Herefordshire Council’s planning committee for terms attached to last year’s approval to be reconsidered next week.

One centres on whether the plans should be blocked in light of changes to national planning rules.
