Big restaurants could move to Hereford's old cattle market
10:50am Friday 27th April 2012 in Hereford City
Restaurant chains Chiquito, Frankie and Benny’s and Prezzo could be moving to Hereford’s multi-million pound retail development.
Developer Stanhope will be boosted by news that three well-known chains have expressed an interest in moving onto the Old Market site off Edgar Street.
But that interest is tempered by Debenhams, a lynchpin of the £90 million scheme, warning its sales in the coming months could take a hit, describing current trading conditions as “difficult”.
For the full story see this week's Hereford Times.
• Work on the cattle market development, due to start back in January, is now expected to start in July with the site ready to open in spring 2014.

I'd prefer us to have more local, independent restaurants but clearly people either can't afford to or don't have the interest to start these types of business up.
If the new development brings with it a selection of chain restaurants then I'd at least welcome more choice in a city where the options are currently very, very limited.

The ESG is just a cash cow for a few counsellors to line their corrupt pockets with our cash simple!!
The development will never happen its not wanted and the idiots at the council who are supposed to work for us DO NOT LISTEN to what the public want they will end up with anarchy on their hands

why do we need more "big company"places.they are not restaurants as such, just global concerns. go to macs or kfc if that is what you want. if debs come ,they will also have a resto too, maybe the new complex could be the hereford resto complex. hope there will be parking for all the clients of these places ,should they arrive.
