A HEREFORD pub at the centre of a row which left a man with a fractured skull has this morning had its licence suspended.
The Golden Fleece has also been told to remove Premises Supervisor Nathan Dimbylow following the disorder at the St Owen Street venue on Good Friday.
The victim, 53-year-old Stephen Lysicia, is critically ill on life support at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
Herefordshire Council’s Regulatory Sub-Committee said the decisions were made as a result of an increase in disorder at the pub over the past year, culminating in last week’s serious assault.
“Police in Hereford are of the opinion that the Golden Fleece is connected with a serious level of disorder,” said Jim Mooney, West Mercia Police’s Licensing Officer in Hereford.
A full licence review will be held within the next month.
