Hereford United are to introduce a Ground Watch scheme after Plymouth Argyle's team coach window was damaged on Wednesday night.

Police are currently studying CCTV footage after an "object" was thrown at the coach on the corner of Blackfriars Street and Edgar Street following the pre-season friendly between the two clubs which Argyle won 1-0.

The Bulls have said that extra stewards will now be on patrol at the ground following the incident.

"This seems to be a random act and the culprit most probably has no connection with Hereford United, but we want to make sure that this sort of thing doesn't happen again," said vice-chairman Tim Russon.

"We'd like our fans to help watch us as they come and go from the ground not just on match day but at any time and report anything suspicous to the police.

"Hopefully this was an isolated incident and the Plymouth team the unfortunate victim.

"It could easily have been a passing car on its way into or out of town. Two or three thousand extra pair of eyes will help keep the streets of Hereford peaceful."
