Hereford rugby club unveils plans for new site

HEREFORD rugby club has pitched its plans for a new ground incorporated into a “centre of excellence” that other sports could share.

The club’s re-location has long been considered with the current Wyeside ground deemed unfit for 21st century demands. This week, the club went public with its intention to move across the city to a site just off Hampton Park Road.

With support from the Rugby Football Union, the club wants to develop a centre of excellence offering a range of sports, from rugby to badminton.

A housing development that makes up part of the plan will help cover the cost.

A public exhibition of the plan will be held at the Wyeside ground on Tuesday April 27, from 3pm to 7pm.
