A MAGPIE had to be rescued by firefighters after getting tangled in fishing line.
The bird was caught up in a tree opposite the pump house in Broomy Hill, Hereford.
Firefighters used a boat to access the tree via the river at 10.45am yesterday, and assisted the RSPCA in rescuing the magpie.
