Freedom of city for The Rifles

THE Freedom of the City will be extended to The Rifles during a lavish ceremony in Hereford at the weekend.
The occasion, arranged by Hereford City Council for Saturday, will also see the Colours of the 3rd Battalion The Light Infantry being ‘laid up’.
Castle Green will host a display of the Colours from 2pm before The Rifles exercise their right to march through the city two hours later.
It is planned they will march up St Owen Street, past the Town Hall and along Widemarsh Street and Maylord Street before ending at the Shire Hall.
At around 6.30pm there will be a Sounding of the Retreat on Castle Green.
