A HEREFORD woman has had a close shave in preparation for Race for Life.

Margaret Blight, of Cilcennin Close, Tupsley, had her head shaved to raise sponsorship money for the event, in which she is taking part in memory of her mother Margaret Thomas.

Margaret said: “I cannot run to save my life, so I thought I would get my hair shorn off to raise the sponsorship money instead.

“Laura, the owner of Lol’s Hair Salon of East Street, Hereford, clipped my hair free of charge so a big thank you to her and to all who sponsored me to the sum of £103.50 on behalf of Cancer Research UK.”
