HEREFORD Pedicabs is introducing ‘cargo bikes’ to help communities cart big loads with little effort.
Will Vaughan, who started operating rickshaw-style bikes to carry people around Hereford with Ben Matthews back in 2007, wants to put a cargo-carrying bike in the St James area of Hereford.
It would be available to anyone who needed to shift large loads, whether it’s the weekly shop, tools for the allotment or a school run.
Overwhelmed by the positive feedback from the public - they had 17,00 people view the topic on Facebook alone – Will and Ben have decided to go ahead with the scheme and say it should be in operation by spring.
The duo are now securing funding for the bike itself, while finding somewhere to store it and put together a way for people to book it out.
