Singer Will Young has paid a visit to the River Cafe at Glasbury during the second day of Hay Festival.

Will, who recorded his latest album near the Welsh/Herefordshire border, was a guest on BBC Radio Two's Breakast Show live from Hay-on-Wye this morning.

The show went ahead with comic David Walliams and the One Show host Alex Jones at the helm after presenter Chris Evans had to rush back to London for the birth of his new baby.

But the winners of the 500 Words children's writing competition were still revealed and read aloud by well-known faces including Catherine Tate, Richard Wilson, Helen Skelton and Daniel Roche.

Taking place at today's Hay Fesival is a talk by former Tesco boss Sir Terry Leahy, a lecture at Hay Library by novelist Michael Morpurgo, and concert by comic Tim Minchin.
