Royal welcome for WI's most famous member

Members of the recently reformed Women’s Institute branch of Hay-on-Wye are preparing to welcome the organisation’s most famous member – the Queen.
As part of Brecknock Federation of Women’s Institutes, delegates from the Hay-on-WI, which is back after an eight-year break, will be among the crowd greeting the Queen at Diamonds in the Park, Powys’ big jubilee event at Glanusk Park near Crickhowell this month.
But as well as welcoming her majesty, who is honorary president of Sandringham WI, Hay WI will be celebrating its own resurrection.
The group was reformed by Trish Richardson last last year and held its first official meeting in March.
They will be greeting the Queen when she attends a Jubiee event at Glanusk Park on April 27.
