HAY-ON-WYE careworkers have been using the nation’s favourite drinks to highlight loneliness among the elderly.
Older residents who live on their own were brought together for a brew and a chat at Cartref care home as part of Bupa’s nationwide Communi-tea Week.
Manager Sylvia Illingsworth said: “A cup of tea is a great way to welcome new faces and friends.
“Not only did it provide an afternoon of entertainment, but it was a good excuse to swap stories and meet different people.” Music and a buffet were also supplied for those invited to the annual event.
