Gutted for Team GB and Tony Larkin, effectively losing on penalties. Two solid performances against ESP and ARG to reflect on #paralympics

It is all over.
Final score: GB blind football team 0 Iran 1.
Disappointment for the Hereford-based team who gave their all in the second half.
5:21pm
You can hear the words of encouragement from Jon Pugh but English misses his third penalty kick.
It is not GB's day.
5:20pm

5:19pm
Whatever happens in the next five minutes, blind football has certainly been put on the map today.
The game is live on Channel 4.
Just three-and-a-half minutes remain.
5:15pm
It it looks like Argentina and Spain will be going through from Pool A.
GB knew they needed to win by two clear goals and an early Iran goal wasn't in the script.
Three penalty misses could prove costly this afternoon.
5:09pm
Great Britain have missed three penalties.
Dave Clarke has a fine shot superbly saved by the Iran keeper.
The ball isn't going to go in for GB today is it?
5:07pm
It has been saved again.
The keeper saves English's spot kick.
5:06pm
Another penalty to GB....
5:05pm
What is it with GB football and penalties?
That was a good penalty from English - it beat the goalie but struck an upright.
Three goals are needed and just 13 minutes left.
5:02pm
Dan English slams a penalty against the bar.
That's a second penalty miss for GB.
It's still one nil to Iran and there is only 15 minutes to go.
4:47pm
Vital save by James.
That was almost a decisive blow.
4:45pm
The second half is underway..
4:33pm
The half time hooter goes and it's not looking too good for GB.
They trail 1-0 against Iran and GB must now score three goals to keep alive their medal hopes.
4:28pm
Dave Clarke's penalty has been saved.
What a blow for GB.
It was straight at the keeper.
4:25pm
Up steps Clarke....
4:25pm
Dan English was fouled in the box.
4:24pm
Penalty to GB.
4:22pm
That goal wasn't part of the script.
The medal hopes of the GB blind football team are fading.
The Hereford-based team trained so hard but they need some inspiration now.
4:20pm
IRAN take the lead.
Disaster for GB.
1-0 to Iran.
GB now need to score THREE goals.
4:17pm
Cracking shot from Iran which was well tipped over by James.
Iran have posed a greater goal threat so far.
PENALTY FOR IRAN.
4:13pm
France, Brazil and Spain are through to the last-four.
Can GB join the big guns in the semi-finals?
The pitch looks a bit wetter today - that should help the hosts.
4:07pm
Good work by RNC student Dan English, who kicks the ball out for a corner.
I think GB will need a big display from skipper Clarke.
Iran have looked the brightest side in the opening 13 minutes.
Each half is 25 minutes long.
4:03pm
PENALTY MISS! Iran have a weak penalty saved by Dan James.
Let off for GB.
Ten minutes gone.
nil nil.
4:00pm
There is a penalty to Iran..
3:58pm
GB have made a slow start and Tony Larkin has called the game's first timeout.
It's still nil nil at the Riverside Arena.
3:56pm
GB are on the verge of giving away an eight-metre penalty.
They have given away three team fouls and one more would mean an Iran penalty-kick.
Ledbury's Lewis Skyers is on the bench today.
3:53pm
Dan James has just made a fine save for GB but the hosts have given away two team fouls.
Iran have made a bright start.
it's nil nil.
3:45pm
We have had some good news from the FA, GB will need to win by two goals to reach the semi-finals.
There is a capacity crowd to watch this huge game for the Hereford-based team.
3:06pm
It's all over in the Argentina v Spain game.
The match has finished 0-0!
Great Britain must beat Iran by three goals to reach the semi-finals.
I am sure there will be a motivational team talk from GB coach Tony Larkin.
The kick off is around 40 minutes away.
2:56pm
Argentina miss a great chance - just four mintues to go.
It looks like Tony Larkin's team will need a three-goal win in their match!
2:53pm
It's a baking hot day at the Paralympic Games.
Some of the crowd watching the blind football are wearing newspapers on their heads.
2:50pm
As mentioned earlier, the place to watch today's big game for the GB team is at thePoint4 in 'Bulmers in the Bistro'.
2:43pm
Nine minutes to go in the Spain v Argentina match at it's 0-0.
It's GB captain Dave Clarke's 42nd birthday today.
Dave is a former trustee of the Royal National College.
Dave and his GB team are kicking off at around 3.45pm.
2:35pm
Great Britain will be hoping for a winner in the match currently taking place.
It's nil-nil between Argentina and Spain.
A draw between Spain/Arg and GB would need to win 3-0 to qualify for the semi-finals.
However, should Spain or Argentina have an outright winner, then Tony Larkin's men will just need a victory against Iran.
Whatever happens in the next 15 minutes, GB will have to win their match!
1:18pm
People in Hereford can pop into thePoint4 to watch the Hereford-based GB Blind Football Team's match against Iran.
The game will be kicking off today (Tuesday) at 3.30pm.
Pop into 'Bulmers in the Bistro' at thePoint4 at Hereford's Royal National College for the Blind to watch the match on the screen.
12:53pm
TONY Larkin's GB's Blind football team must win their clash against Iran this afternoon to stand a chance of progressing through to the semi-final stage and the medal matches.
The big game is all set to be shown live on Channel 4 at 3.30pm this afternoon.
Should Argentina and Spain draw their lunchtime clash, then it could leave the Hereford-based side needing at least a 3-0 win.
If Channel 4's live coverage is delayed due to medal opportunities for Paralympics GB athletes in other sports then fans can switch to Sky 452, Freesat 152 and Virgin 552 for every minute of Paralympics GB v Iran.
10:07am
Sascha was the 10th fastest in the heats and didn't make the final of the freestyle.
He still has one event to come - and that's on Friday.
We've also got Hereforshire interest in the GB Blind Football team today.

Let's keep our fingers crossed.
