Herefordshire soldier's funeral date announced
THE funeral of a Herefordshire soldier who was shot dead by a rogue police officer in Afghanistan is to be held on Friday.
Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Leonard Thomas, from Symonds Yat, was helping to organise a meeting of elders in Helmand Province when he and two other
British soldiers were killed earlier this month.
The 44-year-old, of the Royal Corps of Signals, was taking part in his last operational tour, having served in Kuwait, Iraq and Northern Ireland.
His funeral will be at Bath Abbey at 3pm.
