Drug overdoses linked to "bad batch" of heroin

Police fear a “bad” batch of heroin is being sold in Hereford after two near fatal overdoses within 24 hours of each other.

Both victims – found last Thursday and Friday the – are recovering after emergency treatment at the County Hospital.

Warnings went out to the city’s drug users over the weekend.

“Two near-fatal overdoses in 24 hours obviously makes us worry about a bad batch of heroin being sold,” said DCI Martyn Barnes of Herefordshire CID. “Though there’s nothing as yet to definitely link them both we’ve put the word out."
