A Credenhill woman has celebrated her 100th birthday.
Dorothy Beavan was born in Cardiff before moving to Ross-on-Wye in 1938.
However, she used to go back and forth to her parents’ house in Cardiff and was there when the city was bombed during the Second World War.
During her time in Ross, Mrs Beavan made school uniforms, which followed on from her tailor work in Cardiff, where she made gentlemens’ suits and overcoats.
She later moved to Hereford and then Credenhill, closer to where her daughter Audrey lives.
Mrs Beavan has also enjoyed a lifetime of bellringing.
She was taught by her father and from the age of 16 to 80, she rang the bells of St Mary’s Church in Cardiff and St Nicholas Church in Hereford.
She received a card from The Queen to commemorate her birthday and celebrated the occasion with her family.
