ELLIE Goulding has become the first Herefordshire artist to top the charts for 30 years.
The 24-year-old from Lyonshall has topped the album charts with her debut release, Lights.
The last notable local act to reach the summit was The Pretenders with their self-titled album in January 1980.
The former Lady Hawkins student also remains at number four in the singles chart with her second release, Starry Eyed.
Radio 1 confirmed the feat on Sunday (March 7).
