AN SAS veteran banned from the elite regiment has revealed his one and only regret in a new book.

Pete Winner was with the SAS for 18 years but has since been banned because of articles written in a national newspaper.

He travelled the world witnessing awful scenes and violent conflict but says his only regret is that he will never be allowed into the Credenhill base to pay tribute to a dear colleague.
