A FORMER air traffic controller from Herefordshire has earned her wings in Afghanistan.
Squadron Leader Liz Parker has overseen one of the biggest helicopter operations in British military history.
The 41-year-old from Monkland was the guiding force in Operation Moshtarak, which began last month.
