WORK is to take place on the A49 to improve road safety.

Crossing points in Peterstow will be upgraded while vegetation will be cleared and the bus stop improved.

Work will take place from 9.30am to 3.30pm between the Yew Tree Inn and The Flann Farm.

Meanwhile, at Grafton Lane and Harewood End there will be better signage and new road makings.

Traffic lights will be in place while the road is resurfaced between 6.30am and 3.30pm.

The works began this week and should be complete within a month.
