LITTLE Birch campaigners have stepped up efforts to save their village pub by lodging a petition with Downing Street.
But villagers desperate to save the Castle Inn from permanent closure have to wait for approval before it officially goes live on the Number 10 website.
In the meantime they have been amusing themselves at their own “pub night” in the village hall, when drinkers popped into a makeshift bar for a pint and live music.
Save the Castle Campaign supporters listened to Nick Ward and local band Compost, and more than £150 was raised for the cause.
