HEAVY rain overnight and through this morning has caused a number of county roads to close.

The latest information from Herefordshire Council shows more than a dozen stretches that are impassable because of floodwater.

They are; the A438 Hereford to Ledbury; the A44 Leominster to Monkland; the A465 at Stoke Lacy, Ewyas Harold, Llangua and between Pandy and Pontrilas; the A438 between Letton and Kinnersley; the A4110 Bainstree to Lawton Cross and the A4113 Walford to Leintwardine; the A4137 at Llangarron; the B4521 St Owens Cross to Wormelow; the Longtown to Pandy road at Clodock; Bullingham Lane in Hereford; Prospect Hill at Peterchurch; Old Monmouth Road; and the C1032 Pembridge to Milton crossroads.

Herefordshire Council has opened an emergency information line for county residents to get details on the state of the roads.

They are asked to call 01432 260260.
