A SERIES of free open days at county heritage sites have been launched by Herefordshire council.
The days are taking place at 20 sites, including Grange Court in Leominster, St Katherine’s Chapel in Ledbury, Goodrich Castle, Hereford Light Infantry Museum and the Waterworks Museum on Friday, September 12, and Saturday, September 13.
Meanwhile, historic sites over the Welsh border will be open this weekend.
The Village Alive Trust, based in the Grosmont, Skenfrith, Cross Ash and Llangattock Lingoed area near Abergavenny, is holding the open days as part of this year’s European Heritage Open Doors programme.
The trust will open the Grade II-listed cider house at CwmFarm, Llangattock Lingoed and the medieval Grade II-listed corn barn at Great Trerhew Farm, Llanvetherine.
The historic Grade I-listed St Cadoc’s Church, again at Llangattock Lingoed, will also open.
