HEREFORDIANS can help the victims of the Burmese cyclone on Saturday.
Local Rotary clubs are holding a collection in High Town, which will help to fund the sending of shelterboxes to Burma.
The shelterboxes include a tent and basic equipment to help people cope with a disaster and the collection is being organised by Hereford City and Wye Valley Rotary Clubs.
Ron Giles, the senior vice-president of the Hereford club, said: “The tents house up to 10 people and the box contains 10 sleeping bags and enough water purifying tablets for six months.
“It also has cooking facilities – all the basic ingredients for 10 people to live.” One of the shelterboxes, which cost £500, will be on display at the collection, which will take place from 10am onwards.
